Travels In Our Jeans - Travel's In Our Genes
We started this site in 2009 to support our travels over the year 2010. It was basically a blog for ourselves and for friends and family. Along the way we raised money for Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI), in memory of our son, Harry, who passed away at age 19 months from a mitochondrial disease. CMRI are helping families like ours ten years later and are best known in Australia for their Jeans for Genes Day annual fundraising activity.
So we headed off from our South Coast, NSW, home on the 01st of January 2010 with a few plans and a few divergent options. Unfortunately you can't travel indefinitely so our trip came to an end 364 days after it started. Six continents, only two flights and the rest somewhere on the surface of this planet, not always what you would call earth given we enjoyed three ocean voyages! So if you think travel is interesting, have a look. If you think surface travel is better for the planet, have a look at how we think it is also better for the family and the soul! The website is a travel blog for family and friends, a travel diary, a photographic atlas and hopefully a geographic learning experience.
It has always been the intent for this to slowly evolve to cover any new adventures. We like yachts, motorbikes and the outback so maybe those themes will start to appear. In these days of isolation, lockdown, restrictions and virus worries, a bit of armchair travelling can be good for all.

The Travels and Tribulations Blog is about our 2010 travels. Our travel diary that summarises what we did and where we went. The Where's Molly Blog is a slightly different perspective but of the same design.
The photo gallery at the Photo page, has various pics from the trip and more photo sets can be found at the Archive Photos page.
